Ads are the way of the world. That’s just how it works.

Last week, OpenAI announced their competitor to Google, SearchGPT (innovative naming I know). It looks something like this.

If you’ve been following AI for a while, this might look slightly familiar.

Perplexity AI

Would you look at that. A product built on OpenAI APIs doing web search, looks just like OpenAI’s web search product!

OpenAI can look at Perplexity as a sign that there is actually demand for AI powered search. Perplexity has over 10 Million monthly active users. The company has raised over $60 Million and is valued at $2.5 Billion.

There is, however, a problem.
